How can women change definitions and stereotypes given to them by combining and contrasting traditional shapes, fabrics, styles?

I researched aviation and military garments, comparing their functionality to the delicacy of undergarments and dresses. My initial research introduced me to the Women’s Land Army of WWI and the Women’s Liberation Movement of the 1960s, allowing me to learn about their significant contributions to women’s empowerment.

I aimed for the outer layers of my design to feel more delicate than the underwear. I drew inspiration from traditionally protective clothing, but the dress ultimately exposes what lies beneath.
